MESSAGE FROM MARGUERITE
Itís time to celebrate the great outdoors! Once again June has been proclaimed as National Great Outdoors Month! It is a time for us to enjoy all of our favorite outdoor pastimes, whether that be camping, fishing, hiking, biking, or simply enjoying a neighborhood park. June is a month to step outside and enjoy time in the great outdoors with family and friends. Disconnect to reconnect. We do what we can to celebrate this year-round but are always happy to step up to the plate and have fun in the name of the Great Outdoors!
We will be celebrating National Trails Day on June 6, 2015, at all of our Thousand Trails locations. Make plans now to join us that weekend to hike, explore, and enjoy outdoor fun at your favorite location. If you canít make it that weekend, National Get Outdoors Day is on June 13, and thereís no better place than with Thousand Trails to celebrate this day and the entire month of June. Plus, who doesnít love joining others with the same hobby and touting it with pride?
Although I can appreciate these national designations, whether that be National S'mores Day, one of my favorites, or National Watermelon Day, another summer favorite, I think to myself - why do we need to be constantly reminded to take time to enjoy the simple things in life? Make a commitment to yourself and others to find happiness in the great outdoors, not just for the month of June, but beyond. I canít tell you how many times I hear that camping helps us to reduce stress and spend more quality time with family and friends. This is certainly a low risk commitment.
So in keeping with my challenge theme from last monthís message, I challenge all of us to spend some time and enjoy activities that are important to us and our families. Unplug the electronics, or at least put them in a back pocket for a bit, step outside, and take a look around. Youíll likely find a bunch of memories being made and fun being had. Snap a few photos of the moments and know that weíre here to help these memories happen.
Enjoy National Great Outdoors Month and get out and camp with your friends and family!
