June 18-20: Kids, bring Dad or a special partner to the minigolf course and join us in the Goofy Golf competition that will feature plenty of challenges with our goofy golf clubs, and prizes for all.

June 25-27: 10-Cent Country Fair: Prices are rolled back to fit the old-fashioned country games so roll on down and join us for some 10-cent fun. Lots of games and prizes. Kids and adults are all welcome. Plus the annual Horseshoe Tournament will be in full swing at the horseshoe pits.

Pacific City

June 5: Open House for all members and the local community from 2 to 4 p.m., Hors d'oeuvres will be served. Join us for an evening of Bingo Bashin' with plenty of bingo including Speedo, Table Call, Dory and Can U-Duet.

June 12: Wine and Cheese, Snacks and Punch Social.

June 19: Father's Honor events will feature Father's Day card craft, father and child or pet look-alike contest, and biggest fish or hunting storytelling contest.

June 26: Got Milk? Count the Cows in the scavenger hunt, participate in the cow coloring contest, Moo bingo or Pin the Bell on Bessie games.

Whalers Rest

June 19-20: "I Will Survive" Weekend: Join us for a weekend packed with survival games, nature walks and fort building. The ultimate challenge for all will be "Survivor Night" on Saturday at 7 p.m. in our South Clubhouse. Whose tribe will take the token award for 2010?

June 24: Extreme Kids nights from 7 to 11 p.m. in our South Clubhouse features crazygames, swimming, snacks and a fun movie (great night for parents to plan a date.)

June 26-27: Beach Bums and Babes Weekend: We'll have a beach blanket bingo activity for all ages in our North Clubhouse. Plus, kids, don't miss the sand castle building contest. Nehemiah Brown performs Saturday night.

47th Annual Gem & Mineral Show

Sponsored by the Oregon Coast Agate Club, the event features dealers, demonstrators and children's activities. Held at the Yaquina View School, just 10 miles south of the preserve.


Birch Bay

Annual Birch Bay Sand Castle Contest

Get ready to dig in. It's amazing how with a little imagination the beach at Birch Bay transforms into a series of sand castles and sand sculptures. Come on out and let your imagination run wild. Sponsored by the Birch Bay Chamber of Commerce, event is held at the waterfront, less than a mile from the preserve. For information call (306) 371-5004.

Doggie Olympics

This event is fun for dogs of all ages, sizes, shapes and abilities. Show off your pup's skills by competing in events including "Dunking for Dogs," "The Peanut Butter Lick," shedding contest and more. Some contests involve the participation of the handler. Mount Vernon

June 19-20: Father's Day Weekend: Show Dad how special he is! Take him mini-golfing or make him a gift at Craft Time. Take him to the Lodge for our special Biscuits and Gravy Breakfast. Plus, entertainment by Amy Hindman, campfire songs and s'mores on Saturday evening.

June 26-27: Doggie Days: Your beloved dog is our special guest this weekend as we celebrate man's best friend. Show off your dog at our pet show and win a prize for his special talents, or dress up that pup for the doggie parade. Saturday night is the second in our 2010 series of "A Night Out Dinner and Dance." Dinner and dance is $15 per person. Must sign up to participate.

Berry Dairy Days Festival

Sponsored by the Burlington Chamber of Commerce, this great community event includes a carnival, firefighters' competitions, Wild Women of Woolley, parade, tractor show, chain saw carving, street dance, and of course, the Logger Rodeo. June 4-6: Wacky World of Sports Weekend kicks off with Spaghetti Dinner on Friday from 5 to 6 p.m. On Saturday, we'll have vendor craft tables for show and sell from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Then the competitions start with shuffleboard tournament, followed by pool tournament, then pool volleyball tournament. Chili dogs and hamburgers from 4 to 5 at Coyote Grill Patio and Castleberry Creek performs at 7 p.m. at the Amphitheater.

June 11-13: Flag Day Weekend starts with our Friday Night Spaghetti dinner. Chicken Fried Steak dinner on Saturday from 4 to 5 p.m. For entertainment, our local Boy Scout Troop will be doing a Flag Folding Ceremony, at 7 p.m. at the Amphitheater.

June 18-20: Father's Day Weekend includes Spaghetti Dinner Friday from 5 to 6 p.m. On Saturday at 10 a.m., make cards from Dad and Grandpa. Bring Dad for his free sundae at the Ice Cream Social at 1:30 p.m. and then try to win Dad a free steak dinner in the 9-Ball Tournament. Remember When entertains from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Amphitheater.

June 25-27: Animal Mania: Join us for a special animal show on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Amphitheater. E and E Animals will be bringing animals from all over the world, including Asia and Africa. Dinner is pulled pork sandwiches followed by a performance by Castleberry Creek at 7 p.m. at the Amphitheater.

Lake Minden

June 4-6: Clowning Around: Put on your wackiest outfit and join us for face painting and some wild and wacky games. Pom Pom the Clown will make a Saturday morning appearance. Don't forget your cameras all the clowning around makes for great photos ops!

June 11-13: Flag Day Weekend: Hearts beat true for the Red, White and Blue. Bring your favorite potluck covered dish and join us for an old-fashioned Lake Minden Community Picnic Social to celebrate the spirit that makes this country great. Burn off those extra calories playing horseshoes, volleyball or mini-golf. Enjoy a paddleboat, canoe or kayak outing on the lake.

June 18-20: Father's Day: Bring Dad to the Father's Day Fishing Derby and then take a break at the Father's Day Pie Social. Challenge Dad to a game of horseshoes or mini-golf. Kids can make a Father's Day craft and Dad can show off his moves at the Barn dance.

June 25-17: Bubble Blast Weekend: We'll be painting with the bright colored bubbles, blowing gigantic bubbles and having bubble gum blowing contests. Sign up early for a craft/white elephant sale on the main lawn.

June 11-13
Golden West Regional Fly-In and Air Show

Don't miss the aerial demonstrations and low level fly-bys every day and the exciting aerobic air show on Saturday. On Sunday, see the Eagles of Liberty fly (individually owned, retired military aircraft). Attend forums by aviation experts, authors and war heroes. See 1,000 aircraft and 90 exhibitors. Held at the Yuba County Airport, 1364 Sky Harbor Drive, just 18 miles from the preserve. Event runs 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and is sponsored by the Linda Lions Club.

5th Annual Coloma Blues Live

Five-time Grammy winner Robert Cray headlines this year's event, which also features Charlie Musselwhite, Coco Montoya, Shane Dwight and The Laurie Morvan Band. Adults tickets are $45 in advance ($55 at the door); children ages 7-12 are $10 and children 6 years and younger are free. "Celebrating Summer's Beauty"
Start the summer fair season in Petaluma at the Sonoma-Marin Fair. Events include World's Ugliest Dog Contest, Destruction Derby, Farm to Table Showcase, Chef Demonstrations, and much more. San Benito

June 5: Learn some interesting facts about the California coastline. After seeing the Monterey Bay Aquarium, the 17-Mile Drive and Fisherman's Wharf, come back to the preserve and relax with some crafts and a spectacular ice cream sundae. June 12: Kim and Aimee share their flags from around the world and will be singing and playing for us in the afternoon, following by an old-fashioned potluck in the evening.

June 19: It's Father's Day and we've got a special craft that will make Dad swell with pride. In the evening our Father's Day Dinner will feature the Corvairs playing music from the 50s and 60s.

June 26: Water Gun Fun, plus cool crafts, ice cream sundaes and root beer floats to keep you cool.

Wilderness Lakes

June 4-6: Let's Get in Shape Weekend: We will go for a walk, swim laps, and do aerobics in the Beachcomber all to get in shape for bathing suit season.

June 11-13: A day at the Beach: Come and sun yourself at our beach (the ocean is just minutes away). Join in a game of volleyball, ping-pong or a lazy game of mini-golf.

June 18-20: Father's Day Weekend: We'll have our annual fishing trip, plus on Sunday kids can make Dad a gift at our arts and crafts session at the Beachcomber.

June 25-27: School's Out Weekend: Kids it's time to sleep in and then hang out with friends, playing jail break volleyball or join us in our softball game.


PA Dutch

June 4-6: Wanted pioneers, prospectors, cowboys and outlaws for our Western Weekend. Bingo in the Barn on Friday night. Saturday includes panning for gold, wagon rides and a campfire sing-along and jam session.

June 11-13: Chocolate Fest Weekend includes Friday night bingo, Saturday crafts and a Chocolate Pudding Slip and Slide, plus Chocolate and Wine Social (BYOB). June 18-20: Third Annual Fiddler's Picnic and Pig Roast Weekend features Friday night bingo and Saturday Pig Roast and music.

June 25-27: Fairy Tales and Fantasy Weekend includes Friday night bingo. On Saturday, dress as your favorite nursery rhyme character or super hero for our contest.


June 4-6: Race Weekend: the first of two NASCAR races at Long Pond in the Poconos is this weekend. Lots of excitement and special events in the area.

June 12: Campfire Social on the Beach: Come sit around the campfire and meet your fellow summer campers. We'll supply the marshmallows bring anything else you want to "roast."

June 19: Junior Fishing Derby: This is one is just for the kids. Dads can help but the catching is the kids' job. Prizes for the biggest and most.

June 25-27: Paws on Parade: if it has feet show it off. Special tricks, fancy outfits, extra good looks. St. Bernard or guinea pig, kitty to iguana. Plus DJ dance on Saturday night.

NASCAR at Pocono International Raceway

Three days of racing events, gearing up to the big race on Sunday. For information, call (570) 646-2300. Events are held at the raceway, just 10 miles from the preserve.
