Come on! Enjoy the camaraderie.

A common theme that runs through our magazine, and of course, in the philosophy behind the lifestyle we promote, is one of camaraderie. Whether it is in the form of getting to know your neighbors camp side, taking part in an activity or team experience at any of our resorts, or more importantly, just spending time with your own family—the RV lifestyle is really about “experiencing togetherness.”

As most of you know, I am no rookie to the RVing lifestyle. Over the last 20 years I have had numerous occasions to “live the experience.” Recently I had the opportunity to “live the experience” with the ELS team. Believe it or not, we hit the road and set out to not only become stronger as a team but also to confirm that we are indeed offering a lifestyle to our guests and members that is unparalleled.

At times it really seemed like a handson “RVing 101” course—figuring out how to put up and breakdown a popup camper, positioning the motorhome to take in all the beauty of a lakefront site, learning the fine art of cooking over the campfire, and the tricky one—how to make your kayak head in the direction you want it to go. We had some laughs, experienced a few frustrations, got some bumps and bruises, but most importantly we worked together as a team. And we walked away from the experience stronger and more confident that we are on the right track in providing a lifestyle experience to our guests and members that can’t be beat.

Now—whether any of us plan to take up RVing as full-timers somewhere down the road remains to be seen. But if you are considering that lifestyle, check out the article in this issue that looks at what you need to know before you go—full-timing, that is. There is nothing more freeing than unbundling and unburdening and hitting the open road. If you’re not quite there yet, we invite you to “live the experience” with us as often as you like. Many of the preserves are still offering full schedules of family events through autumn. Snowbirds are beginning to fly and we’ve got a lot of activities planned in the warmer climates that are sure to please everyone. In addition to the preserve highlights, we’ve included a sneak peek at some of our concerts and events that are planned at several of our winter destinations so you can plan ahead and travel from event to event enjoying the RV lifestyle. Call it what you want—camaraderie, togetherness. Any way you look at it—the shared experiences become a part of who you are, a part of who we are. Family!

Until Next Time,
