The Spot

Ever worry where the kids are? How about your kids wondering where the heck you are? Cell phones are wonderful but sometimes we find ourselves in places where the cell reception just doesn’t work too well. So what do you do if you are injured, lost or have just misplaced yourself? Enter The Spot—designed to notify others of your location whenever you choose. The Spot uses satellites to track itself and reports that information to its web site where you can designate friends or relatives to be alerted to your location, just by pushing the “ok-check” button or it can do so automatically every ten minutes. It can call for help if needed using the same satellite system. With only four buttons to master it only takes a few moments to master the Spot’s operation. Base price for the device is $150.00 and $100.00 for basic service. Plus, you can purchase an insurance policy from Lloyd’s of London for $7.95 when you register the unit. Visit their web site for more information.

E-Zee Shade Handles

It can sometimes be difficult raising or lowering the Day/Night shades in our RVs. The problem is the stubby little handles that come with them or those pesky finger slots, sometimes called finger rails. Now with E-Zee Handles you can have convenient and removable handles to assist in the use of your RV Day/ Night shade. E-Zee Handles allow for easy opening of large or small shades and reduces any soiling of the shade cloth. The new universal handle will fit most shades with 1/2 or 5/8 inch slots. If one side doesn’t fit the other one should.

The E-Zee handles will not function properly if your shades need adjustment. Adjustment of one type of shade is shown on the E-Zee Handle web site under “Day/Night Shade Tips.” Follow packaging instructions for proper use.

Note: This handle will not fit Itasca or Winnebago (a new handle for these coaches should be available soon.) Units can be found at most RV dealers or directly from E-Zee Handle.

Torklift International – Stable Load

Sometimes the simple things make the biggest amount of difference. Leaf spring suspensions have been around almost from Day One and in the RV industry overload helper springs are the norm but they do have problems with induced roll and body sway of the vehicle.

Airbags had been the primary way of controlling these problems but they come with a high cost and their own problems, so what to do? Introducing the Torklift Stable Load pads that E2 Round Bar Hitch from Progress Mfg. Inc. Progress Manufacturing has been building hitches for a long while which tells us that they know how to do it right. Their new E2 hitch is no exception. The E2 hitch provides weight distribution with integrated sway control in one unit. Currently available in a trunnion style hitch, the new E2 round bar gives more integrated sway control options to RVers because its sway control is built directly into the hitch so no add-on sway control devices are necessary. The E2 hitch is made of high quality steel and carries a limited 10-year warranty. www.progressmfg.com work with or without airbags. The pads don’t increase the vehicle’s load capacity but rather they engage the overload springs sooner to reduce sway, body roll, and bucking often associated with loss of control leading to accidents. Stable Load pads keep the vehicle level, improving breaking, reducing stopping distance, and maintaining correct front-end alignment. The Chevy/GMC Stable Load adjusts side-side and front-back for accurate load leveling, 4-way adjustability. The Ford/Dodge Stable Load does the same without the 4-way adjustability. Installation takes about 30 minutes for all four units. Contact Torklift directly for application and pricing.
